CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR
IMPLANT TREATMENT
Certain medical and dental conditions may make dental implants unsuitable for some people. Implants maynot be suitable for the following common reasons:

Smoking

Unstable gum disease

Patients taking some medications for osteoporosis

Patients taking or have taken Bisphosphonate medicines (e.g. Alendronate)

Diabetic patients
-
Where the other teeth are mobile or moving
-
Where the adjacent teeth have dental infections which may spread to the implant during healing

Bleeding disorders
-
Medical conditions causing poor healing
-
Previous chemotherapy and radiotherapy
-
Poor oral hygiene
-
A low motivation to care for teeth, as implants require maintenance.
